This class will be held on Zoom from 1pm to 4pm on August 24th and August 25th. It is required to attend both 3 hour session in order to get CE.

At Home With Diversity® is an educational experience designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry. More importantly, the class teaches how real estate professionals can increase their sensitivity and adaptability to future market trends. Additionally, you will learn to thrive as an effective service provider and community leader. The course addresses issues of diversity, fair housing, and cultural differences. All three subjects are closely related and have value for real estate professionals who must serve diverse local markets.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
Access and analyze U.S. demographic information to understand the impact of current trends on the real estate industry.
Examine cultural stereotypes, assumptions, and biases to increase awareness of such thoughts and attitudes, and learn how to value individual differences.
Explain how inclusion is the aim of diversity sensitivity, and how it will increase business and enhance risk management.
Communicate more effectively, and provide equal service to clients in their multicultural local markets.
Apply and practice the One America Principles and fair housing laws.
Build and expand the understanding of cultural differences.
Develop professional and sensitive guidelines for working with people of different cultures.
Identify personal objectives and review potential strategies to create business plans that include diversity.

Michael Lee
Michael “Soon” Lee, Ph.D., CRS, GRI, has spoken around the world at programs including fourteen National Association of Realtors Conventions, the CRS Sell-a-bration, the Women’s Council of Realtors Convention, the New Zealand Speakers Convention, Cendant Management Retreat and the Coldwell Banker International Real Estate Forum. He has been a licensed real estate agent and broker four over forty years. Dr. Lee has managed both small independent companies and large franchised firms. He has sold millions of dollars of residential and commercial property and assisted clients in doing numerous IRC Section 1031 exchanges. As an agent, he has earned as much as $75,000 in commissions in one month.

Mr. Lee has been a real estate speaker since 1985. He is a Master Instructor for the California Association of Realtors and is one of only 600 “Certified Speaking Professionals” in the world. He is the first Asian American in history to be awarded this designation In the history of the National Speakers Association.

Michael has written real estate courses that have been approved by the California, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, North Dakota, Texas and Georgia departments of real estate. He has also spoken at hundreds of Boards of Realtors and companies across the United States. In addition to the real estate profession, Dr. Lee has also spoke to sales teams in corporations like: Chevron, Coca-Cola, General Motors, State Farm Insurance, and over a thousand others.

Mr. Lee has written several real estate books including: Cross-Cultural Selling for Dummies; OPENING DOORS: Selling to Multicultural Real Estate Customers, BLACK BELT NEGOTIATING, 111 WAYS TO JUSTIFY YOUR COMMISSION and BUILDING BRIDGES: Selling to Multicultural New Home Buyers. In addition, he is often called as an Expert Witness in real estate court cases.

Besides his extensive real estate background, Michael Lee holds Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Business, has been a Certified Financial Planner and is enrolled to practice taxation before the Internal Revenue Service. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses for numerous colleges and universities throughout the United States since 1980. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from San Francisco State University, a Masters in Business Administration degree from Golden Gate University and a doctorate degree in business also from Golden Gate. He also holds a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.

Mr. Lee has been teaching multicultural real estate courses since 1990 when he wrote and taught the course “Working Successfully with Asian Buyers and Sellers” for the California Association of Realtors®. Since that time he has presented classes about how to sell to clients from diverse cultures to hundreds of real estate companies, Associations of Realtors®, title companies and home builders throughout the United States.
