This GRI class will be held on Zoom from 9am to 12pm on September 7th. It is required to attend the full 3-hour session in order to get CE.

The course covers the basic rules of statutory interpretation, real estate license, property management license, disclosures, and much more. Participants can expect an interactive learning experience with a practical based case study at the end to help solidify some of the concepts.

Rodney Barker
Rodney Barker has a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law with emphasis in Business Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law. Mr. Barker has a Bachelor of Arts from Portland State University and holds degrees in Business Administration, Business Finance, and Business Management. Other educational areas of interest include State of Oregon Certified Mediator and Distance Learning Teaching Academy Graduate of MHCC.

Mr. Barker is a licensed Broker and Attorney and is currently Dean of Business and Social Science at Mt. Hood C.C. Additionally, Mr. Barker has 15 years of management experience. Teaching/Advising is one of Mr. Barker's passions, and he has taught at Portland State University since 2003, Eastern Oregon University, Portland Community College, and Mt. Hood Community College where he was the director of a two-year degree program “Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management."

Growing up Rodney’s parents owned a small business, Marshall’s Donuts, for 19-years. With all the family working in the business it was a natural fit for Rodney to work in the family business. The valuable experiences learned from working in a small business never left him, and now Rodney owns several small businesses including: Mustard Seed Publishing, LLC, Blinking Barracuda Property Management, LLC, Bar Exam Essentials, LLC, and Mt Hood Realty, LLC.

Helping people either sell or buy a home or business is a passion, and teaching/advising for real estate is his love.

The day prior to the date of the webinar, all registered participants will receive an email from OAR providing webinar login instructions, CE directions, and handouts (if applicable). All OAR webinars are individual, meaning each participant who would like to receive CE from the webinar must purchase the webinar and view it completely. 50 minutes of seat time is required per 1 hour of education to receive CE for a webinar. Any participant who views the webinar for less than 50 minutes will not receive CE, no exceptions. By signing into the webinar with the same first and last name that you registered with, OAR will be able to verify your attendance and issue you a CE certificate.

All participants who meet the mandatory seat-time requirement and paid for the webinar will be provided a CE certificate in their member profile up to one week after the date of the webinar. OAR strives to offer the best experience possible with live webinars. To receive a full refund, a cancellation request must be received via email (education@oregonrealtors.org) 48-hours prior to the start of any webinar. All cancellation requests received after the 48-hour time period will not be issued a refund. No refunds or credit given for no-shows. Emergency cancellations may be considered by the course provider and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
