Madeline Alvarado
Maddy currently serves as the Consumer Advocacy Manager for the Oregon Department of Justice since April 2024. In this role, she oversees the Consumer Hotline, Consumer Complaint program, and additional key consumer protection initiatives. These programs are essential in safeguarding Oregonians from fraud and misconduct, empowering individuals, especially those from vulnerable communities, to hold businesses accountable.

Previously, Maddy served as the Licensing & Education Manager at the Oregon Real Estate Agency (OREA), where she was responsible for consumer protection in one of the most significant financial arenas of people’s lives: real estate. She managed the agency’s licensing and education programs and played a central role in evaluating and directing consumer complaints for investigation. Since obtaining her real estate license in 2018, she has cultivated a deep commitment to the housing industry and the consumer protection laws that govern it.

Maddy has also contributed to broader policy and regulatory efforts. She formerly served as Vice-Chair for the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials and was a committee member for the City of Same Housing Advisory Committee.
Throughout her public service career, Maddy has led numerous communication and outreach initiatives, developed educational courses, and delivered public presentations across Oregon. She looks forward to continuing these efforts in her current role at the Department of Justice, advocating for fairness, transparency, and accountability in Oregon’s consumer marketplace.
