The Domestic Well Safety Program (DWSP) will be presenting on domestic/private well best practices, and the Domestic Water Testing Act (ORS 448.271). Learn how contaminants affect human health, what the main contaminants are in Oregon, and what watch out for in wells during real estate transactions. In addition, DWSP will explain statute and rules regarding the Domestic Water Testing Act, address common misconceptions, and introduce the new online submission for DWTA test results.

Jara Popinga
Jara Popinga is a Public Health Educator with Oregon Health Authority's Environmental Public Health Section. She has received her Bachelor's of Science in Public Health. In addition to education, Jara has two years of experience in community engagement, outreach, and training coordination. She has worked with a variety of state level public health programs including emergency medical services, health security and disaster preparedness, childhood lead poisoning prevention, and since November 2016, the Oregon Domestic Well Safety Program. 

Kelly Cogswell
Kelly Cogswell has a Master's degree in Public Health and a graduate certificate in GIS. Kelly has five years of direct relevant work experience in epidemiologic research from employment at the Oregon Health Authority and at a private consulting firm. She has an additional two years of experience working in health education.

OAR Live Courses & Online Courses Are NON-TRANSFERABLE.OAR live and online courses are different products. Time spent in each cannot be transferred from one to the other, or interchanged. All students should be advised that they are required to complete 100% of the OAR course solely live in the classroom or 100% of the OAR course solely online; if a student chooses to cancel from one mode to another, they must start the course again from the beginning. A cancellation must be approved by OAR.
